Little Star works with several key partners to ensure that our services best meet the needs of children and families in the Methow Valley.

Early Learning in the Methow Valley

A 2025 Early Learning Needs Assessment in the Methow determined that more community outreach was needed to share all the resources available to families with children age 5 and under, and especially for children with special needs. Working together with Methow Valley Elementary, Bright Start Services and Okanogan County Child Development Association, we created a comprehensive list of Early Learning Opportunities and Services in the Methow Valley.

Building Little Star’s Twisp Campus

In 2015, the Methow Valley School District, Room One and Little Star School formed an Early Childhood Education Steering Committee to lay a path into the future for accessible, quality early learning and childcare in the Methow Valley.

In response to an assessment by the committee that documented a dramatic need for expanded early learning options in our community, Little Star, Room One and TwispWorks partnered and launched the Little Star South Collaborative and opened the doors to Little Star’s Twisp campus in October 2017.

The Twisp campus houses the Valley’s first ever state licensed infant classroom, and added a new toddler classroom to our school. Our inclusive, supportive and compassionate approach creates a learning environment where our community’s children can flourish.

Room One provides wrap-around family support services and partners with Little Star to provide parenting resources, health and nutrition services and education, and expanded access to financial aid.

TwispWorks provides the home for the classrooms, a place where children and families are welcomed and community is nurtured.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our Methow Valley community for helping us build this valuable resource for families!
